Getting started

If you have just created your account, read this page first.

What Ninja Idle is

You do not control the moves here: you build the team and pick the mission. Your squad fights on screen, hit by hit, against the enemies of the mission you sent it to. Your job is choosing who leads, its moves, its gear and who it fights.

The cast has 124 ninja forms across 3 playable families. Each family starts in a base form and unlocks transformations as it levels. The beta runs to arc 3, with 56 missions.

Your village

Before entering the game you swear loyalty to one of the 5 Great Villages. Your village decides which ranking you show up in, which chat channel you see, which families you can found or join, and which side you defend in the Ninja War.

Your first steps

This is how every account starts.

  1. Summon at Ichiraku Ramen. Each summon costs 10 Chakra Fragments and hands you a random ninja. A new account already has the Fragments for the first one, and more waiting in the Mail.
  2. Build your squad. A squad is 1 leader, who actually fights, plus up to 3 supports, who lend 10% of their own stats to the leader.
  3. Pick a mission. Take the one marked Recommended on the map: it is chosen for your leader's level.
  4. Sell your loot. Everything that drops becomes an item in your bag, and the Shop buys it for Copper Coin, which is what pays for supplies.
  5. Turn on the Chakra Extractor. With it on, every enemy you take down can pay a Chakra Fragment, which is how you summon the next ninja.

The game loop

From there the game turns on this loop:

  • fighting pays XP to the leader, loot to the bag and Chakra Fragments through the Extractor;
  • the loot you sell pays for supplies (Extractor and Medical Kit) and for refining gear;
  • Chakra Fragments pay for new summons, and a duplicate ninja becomes Soul Fragments when sacrificed;
  • Soul Fragments pay for transformations and for attempts at improving Potential.

Every turn of the loop leaves your leader stronger, which opens the next mission, which pays more XP and better loot. When the current mission starts paying little, that is the sign to move on along the map.

The in-game tutorials

The game has 40 short tutorials, each one showing up the moment that system starts to matter, with a spotlight on the next click. The "Show me" button walks the path for you, except where the action spends something or cannot be undone.

Each one appears once per account. To see one again, or to stop them from opening on their own, open the tutorial hub in Settings.
