Competition

Four ways to measure yourself against other people, and none of them touches your mission progress.

Arena

The Arena is asynchronous: you challenge, the fight resolves right away against the other player's squad, and they do not have to be online.

  • You get 5 challenges a day, with 15s between two challenges to the same person.
  • A win is worth +20 points and a loss -10, and your score never drops below zero.
  • Your defense is always your strongest squad, recalculated at every challenge. There is no separate screen to set up a defense, and that is deliberate.
  • The Arena pays no XP, loot or currency. What it gives you is standing.

When a challenge is refused

The game blocks a lopsided challenge before simulating anything:

  • If one side has more than 3 times the other's Power, the challenge does not happen.
  • If one side's first hit alone would kill the other, the challenge only goes through when BOTH sides kill on the first hit. Then the winner is whoever has more Speed.

Monthly season

Arena points reset at the turn of the month, Brasília time, and the top 10 receive Special Chakra Fragments by Mail. Only people who fought that month are in the running.

Global ranking

The ranking compares everyone by their account's highest Power ninja, with filters by village and by character. It has no season and no prize: it is the public yardstick of who is strongest.

Global ranking with village and character filters, and a row showing nickname, ninja, level, Potential band and Power.
The ranking compares each account's strongest ninja. The filters let you see who holds the best copy of a character.

Chunin Exam

The Exam is a bracket tournament per village, held on Saturdays at 2pm Brasília time. It is the only path to a rank promotion in the game.

Chunin Exam bracket for Konohagakure with the round 1 matchups, each team showing its four ninjas, and round 2 still to be decided.
The bracket is per village. Every matchup shows both teams' four ninjas before the fight starts.
  • To enter you must be a Genin, have a village, and have beaten ALL 56 missions of the beta's arcs. The arc bosses are not enough: it is every enemy.
  • A village needs at least 4 entrants. Below that, that village's exam does not happen and everyone is told by Mail.
  • Each fight is 4 against 4 on a 9 sector map, with a minute of blind positioning first: you choose where each ninja enters without seeing the other team.
  • The top 30% of the field are promoted to Chunin.

Blind positioning

Before each fight you get a minute to say where each ninja of your team enters. It is the Exam's only decision, and you make it without seeing your opponent's:

The arena is split into nine sectors. You drag each ninja to where it will enter.
  • Anyone you leave unplaced enters in a sector drawn at random.
  • The farther your ninja enters from its target, the longer it spends walking before its first hit. Close-range fighters want to start right next to the enemy; long-range ones do better at the back.
  • A crowded sector hurts: a ninja piled up with its own allies loses part of what it would do there. Positioning breaks ties, it does not decide the fight on its own.

Ninja War

The War is a scheduled event between the 5 villages, on a screen of its own. Each country holds outposts and a capital, 25 points in all, and each one changes hands only once per war.

Ninja War map with the five nations in different colours, their capitals marked and the points spread across each country.
The whole War map: five countries, each with its capital marked and the outposts that change hands during the event.
  • Standing on an enemy point, you fight whoever is defending it. With no one to face, your attack goes straight into the point's structure.
  • From the inside, defending means repairing the point, and repairing is worth far less than tearing down: holding a point takes more people than taking it.
  • A capital can only be attacked after every other point of that country has already fallen.
  • Fighting earns War Insignias, and anyone past 100 Insignias in a war is in line for a Lendário I piece at their next login.
